How we handle information shared with FingerPower.
This policy describes what information we collect, how it is used, how confidential recordings are handled, and how long materials are retained.
FingerPower provides human-led Mandarin transcription for research, consulting, and decision-making workflows. This policy describes what information we collect through the website and in active engagements, how it is used, and how recordings and project materials are handled. Project-specific NDAs and handling agreements may further refine these terms in writing; in case of conflict, the project-specific document governs.

Information we collect
We come into contact with information in three contexts. (1) Contact form: name, organization, email, project type, estimated recording length, and message that you submit. (2) Engagements: recordings, reference materials (glossaries, company or product names, prior reports), and feedback that you share once a project begins. (3) Website visits: server logs may record request time, status codes, IP segments, and user agents to support troubleshooting and abuse prevention. These logs do not record contact-form message content.
How we use information
Contact-form information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and, once engagement begins, to manage scoping, terminology, delivery, and contract administration. Project materials are used only to produce the agreed deliverables, and never appear in public samples or marketing materials without separate written consent. We do not use client recordings or transcripts to train machine learning models, and we do not sell or exchange project data.
Confidentiality of recordings and project materials
Recordings and supporting materials are treated as confidential by default. Access is restricted to personnel directly involved in the specific project. Sensitive engagements can be scoped in writing before file transfer with a named access list, an agreed transfer method (encrypted channel or controlled shared drive), explicit exclusion of generic cloud ASR or AI correction tools where required, and offline manual workflow details. An NDA is the default floor, not the ceiling.
Storage and cross-border transfer
Project files are stored within China or in a controlled environment specified by the client. When cross-border transfer is necessary (for example, when the client entity is outside China), the transfer method, storage location, and encryption requirements are confirmed in writing before the project begins. We do not export project materials to third-party platforms or jurisdictions beyond what the contract permits.
Retention and deletion
Project materials are retained only as long as needed to complete delivery and reasonably support follow-up review or reconciliation — typically 30 to 90 days, adjustable in the project NDA. After the retention window, source recordings and working files are deleted. Written deletion confirmation is available on request. Final delivered documents remain in the client's custody.
Third-party services
A small number of third-party services support the website and email delivery and only process limited operational metadata: Resend for outbound email; optional Google Analytics 4 for aggregate visit statistics (loaded only after you accept analytics cookies); Cloudflare Turnstile for anti-spam verification on the contact form when enabled. None of these services receives recordings, transcripts, or other project content.
Cookies and analytics
The website does not set any tracking cookies by default. Where analytics is enabled, you will see a cookie-preferences banner; Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you click "Accept analytics cookies," and it reports only aggregate visit statistics. You can revisit your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
Your rights and contact
You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of personal information or project materials you have shared with FingerPower by emailing service@fingerpower.com. We will respond within a reasonable period. Where your jurisdiction grants additional rights (for example, GDPR or China's Personal Information Protection Law rights to withdraw consent or to data portability), please raise them in your message.
