Terms

Terms governing the use of FingerPower services.

These terms describe project engagement, confidentiality, payment, and liability. Project-specific agreements may further refine these terms in writing.

These terms describe how FingerPower's Mandarin transcription and related documentation services are engaged. Project-specific agreements and NDAs may further refine these terms in writing; in case of conflict, the project-specific document governs.

Scope of services

FingerPower provides human-led Mandarin transcription, expert interview and meeting documentation, terminology maintenance, and related documentation services. Machine transcription and local offline AI are used only as auxiliary quality control and do not constitute the primary deliverable. Services outside Mandarin (Traditional Chinese, English translation, summaries, special formatting) are scoped on a per-project basis.

Project confirmation and engagement

Engagement begins after recording type, language scope, terminology requirements, speaker and number accuracy needs, confidentiality rules, turnaround, delivery format, and fees are confirmed in writing. Scope changes (for example, added translation, shorter turnaround, or a different delivery format) may affect turnaround, deliverables, and fees, and take effect once both parties confirm them in writing.

Confidentiality and data handling

FingerPower handles recordings and project materials as confidential by default. NDA terms, named access, file transfer and storage methods, retention windows, and deletion procedures can be aligned in writing before detailed materials are transferred. For projects scoped as offline manual transcription, tool-exclusion rules form part of the engagement scope. A project-specific NDA can be executed where stricter terms are needed. Detailed handling rules are in the Privacy Policy.

Client responsibilities

The client confirms that recordings, reference materials, and personal information shared with FingerPower are lawfully held and may be processed by FingerPower for the agreed purpose. For recordings containing personal data, trade secrets, or regulated information, please indicate the sensitivity level and required handling rules in advance. The client is expected to complete review and feedback within a reasonable period after delivery so that any necessary corrections can be made.

Fees and payment

Fees are agreed in writing on a per-project or recurring engagement basis. Common pricing models include per audio hour, per finished word, and per-project retainer. Payment method, currency, invoicing, and tax arrangements are confirmed at engagement. Unless otherwise agreed, final deliverables are released once the agreed payment terms are met; recurring engagements may follow a monthly or quarterly settlement rhythm.

Intellectual property

Copyright in the final transcripts and related documents passes to the client upon full payment. FingerPower retains the right to maintain project-specific terminology, acronyms, and naming conventions internally for ongoing work with the same client. Use of anonymized excerpts as public samples on the website or other promotional materials requires the client's prior written consent.

Liability and disclaimers

FingerPower applies reasonable professional care to transcription and documentation work. Where audio quality, overlapping speech, or specialized terminology prevents a confident determination, those points are surfaced as uncertainty markers for client review rather than silently guessed. To the extent permitted by law, FingerPower's liability for any single project is limited to the fees actually paid for that project. FingerPower is not liable for downstream business decisions made on the basis of delivered documents.

Governing law and changes

These terms are interpreted, enforced, and disputed under the law of FingerPower's place of registration; project-specific agreements may specify a different jurisdiction. These terms may be updated as the service evolves, with the latest version always available on this page. Material changes affecting active engagements will be communicated to clients in writing.
